José Honório Rodrigues was a historian and author of vast works, mainly to understand Brazil, in the sense of having in the knowledge of the past an instrument to find explanations and solutions for current problems. And this text seeks to present an important concept of honorian social theory, which is the “conciliation” and the consequences of this behavior arising from Brazilian oligarchic groups, but, equally, the importance of the Brazilian people in the process of building this country, in a dialectic of confronting historical social injustices. For this purpose, an analysis is made of two of his works: Aspirações Nacionais, from 1963 and republished in 1970, and Conciliação e Reforma no Brasil, from 1965.Downloads
