Abstract

This paper discusses the influence of sacred architecture in the place of meeting of Christians called “liturgical space”, favoring the great encounter between God and his people, having, as one of the drivers, the “sacred silence”. Such questions, anchored in the documents of the Church, point to the need for this silence, contributing to the celebration of the mystery celebrated and the rediscovery of prayer. Through a bibliographical research based on reflections and interpretations, it is perceived that, in recent times, the daily agitation and the constant accumulation of information, have led society to an internal restlessness by the various possibilities of information offered in contemporary times. As a result, the research shows that the Church, conductor of the Father to his children through sacred silence, leads the soul of the faithful to the Lord who dwells there and gently, like the light breeze, makes his home in his heart.
