On the Byzantine Liturgy vocabulary

Abstract

The most important value of the Eastern Churches of Byzantine rite is its liturgical heritage. This liturgy puts a direct channel toward the ancient christianity and the Patristic era. It is growing in Brazil an interest in the Eastern Churches, their theology and liturgical spirituality. But one feels the need of a vocabulary defining in Portuguese language the Byzantine liturgical terminology. This is a first attempt to create a small lexicon of this sort.
